There are a variety of popular mediums to express gratitude trending today. I believe the method that evokes the most sincere feelings is best — regardless of how it’s done.

Below are two of the most popular ways of establishing a daily gratitude habit.
- Gratitude Journal. Probably the most widely suggested form of expressing gratitude is with a gratitude journal. Whether you use an inexpensive spiral notebook or a leather-bound hard-cover journal it’s a place where you can write about all the meaningful things in your life.
- Gratitude App. There are a wide variety of gratitude apps available for your smartphone. Some are very basic and others are more comprehensive including challenges and/or programs for a higher level of well-being.

And here are a few creative ways to tap into your inner appreciation:
- Gratitude Cards. Flip through a standard deck of 52 cards and with each card verbalize what you’re grateful for. The cards help aid in focus.
Alternatively, you can use ‘face-cards’ for family members you appreciate most and/or suits as themes like; spades – work, hearts – friends, diamonds – material wealth and clubs – accomplishments.
- Art. Use your artistic passions or skills, whether it’s drawing, singing, poetry, dancing, playing an instrument or whatever to enhance and bring to life your gratitude.
It doesn’t matter if you prefer old-fashioned pen and paper to record the many blessings in your life or to rattle them off while strumming a guitar — it is important to know they exist.
