We are often labeled and identify ourselves by what we are. Rarely do we ponder about what we are not — or why we are not something or someone different.

To appreciate the introduction it important to believe that God is very active in our lives and guides us in a direction that is for our best — including what we are and what we are not.
Our whims, desires and influences are like forces of nature continually pushing a jet – or our lives – off course. Simultaneously the Master Navigator is perpetually laying a new course to help us reach our destination.
Taking this into consideration we can understand that what we are is for the best and to be otherwise is counterproductive. Further, we can be grateful for what we are not.
Here are some scenarios to illustrate the point.
- Wealth is a very slippery slope. Some people maintain their common sense when blessed with an abundance of money, however, some fail miserably continually making horrible and destructive decisions.
Your wealth level is determined by God and whatever it is, it’s for the best.
- Fame is also stumbling block. The world is filled with dysfunctional famous people. It’s not an easy tightrope to walk and many fall off.
If you’re not famous you can be assured it’s for the best.
By closing doors of opportunity, withholding intelligence, physical ability, talent and more, God continually guides us on the proper course so that we’ll reach out to Him with heartfelt gratitude, which is the purpose of life.
