A public expression of thanks.

A Seudat Hoda’ah is a festive meal of gratitude for family, friends, and/or the community usually made because of a salvation brought about by God. It’s a way of saying, “Thank You!” to God — but publicly.

One might (or should) host a Seudat Hoda’ah after recovering from an illness, serious accident, or from being saved from danger. On a grander scale, a Seudat Hoda’ah can be made after a successful military operation where miracles occurred or other national salvation.

During the meal, stories of salvation and miracles are told, dvrei Torah are said and songs can be sung. It can be a truly uplifting and memorable experience.

A Seudat Hoda’ah is a beautiful and inspirational way to recognize and be grateful for God’s involvement and abundent kindness.
