“Am I going to be okay?” can be a frightening question if the right or even a soothing answer is elusive.
Unfortunately, this unsettling feeling is all too common these days, however, there is good news — and we read it every day! In the Moadim blessing of the Amidah, we can find comfort and security in knowing:
Our lives are in entrusted in Your Hands.
Our souls are desposited in Your care.
Taking a slightly different approach, the book Inner Work, a collection of excerpts from Rav Gottlieb’s writings points out a wonderous kabbalistic concept.
We are where are thoughts are.
When we focus on happy, healthy, and Torah thoughts and ideas, we are surely in a ‘good place’ and the anxieties of uncertainty can melt away.
Also, from Inner Work, a statement that says that the current situation — whatever it may be — is the best-case scenario.
We have to believe that there is no possible reality more perfect than the reality that is.
During these tumultuous times, it is crucial to maintain a healthy and accurate understanding of the reality around us. Believing that everything is for the best is a tremendous teshuvah for those times when doubt and despair seem so natural and believable.
Hopefully, one, two, or all three of these ideas will help you as the seas of chaos rage around us.
