G-d designed the world so that we would need His help — to make G-d a partner — to “let us make man” together.
The success of our endeavors whether it’s peeling an apple, driving to work, or raising children is in the Hands of G-d. That being said, we still need to put forth our best effort.
Here are a few places in our siddur where we ask G-d for things we might think are within our power.
Guard my tongue from speaking evil and my lips from speaking deceit…. Open my heart to Your Torah and let my soul pursue Your commandments.
End of Amidah
and
May He open our hearts in His Torah and place within our hearts love for Him and awe of Him…
Uva L’tzion
The same applies to teshuvah! Yes, we need His help with doing teshuvah too.
