There might be times or situations in life that feel they’re broken beyond repair. But this is not true.
Personal struggles, addictive behaviors, and broken relationships are not beyond repair. About this Rebbe Nachman said:
If you believe that you can destroy, believe that you can repair.
Meshivat Nefesh #38
Additionally, and possibly more difficult to internalize, he said:
There is no despair in the world.
Our history — nationally and personally — is rich with situations where salvation came when it seemed impossible.
In fact, there is a spiritual principle that darkness comes before light. However, ‘Hashem plans the refuah (cure) before he plans the maka (affliction).’
Bringing it full circle — the repair comes after the destruction — but it takes desire and spiritual work like personal prayer to merit the repair that is waiting to take place.
Place your hope in Hashem; be strong and He will strengthen you heart; place your hope in Hashem.
Psalm 27:14
